That Philadelphia fan who decided to tattoo the Lombardi Trophy on his neck is probably researching a refund and removal this morning.
It turns out new quarterback Sam Bradford and the Eagles will not crush every opponent in their path as Bradford's stellar preseason, boosted by breathless media hype, led some to believe.
Bradford completed 36 of 52 passes for 336 yards in Philadelphia's 26-24 loss to the Atlanta Falcons on Monday night.
It was his first regular season game since the Mike Mitchell hit on Oct. 20, 2013.
In true Bradford fashion, the performance toggled between alarming and impressive.
Alarming: Other than the second-quarter, 69-yard drive that ended with a field goal, the Eagles totaled just 56 yards on seven first-half possessions. Bradford's first three series as an Eagle went three-and-out. He threw an off-balance interception from his own 20-yard-line with 1:05 left in the half. Atlanta turned it into a touchdown and a 20-3 halftime lead. Bradford completed 15 of 27 first-half passes. His passer rating was down to 51 by the break.
