NFL’s ‘Monday Night Football’ Opener Ratings Steady For ESPN From 2014; Game 2 Surges Over Last Year

There were debuts and finales on the Big 4 last night but the only big game in town was the official season kickoff of the doubleheader on the sports giant. With some brand new graphics featuring Howard Cosell and a blazing tribute to Frank Gifford,ESPN’s Monday Night Football took the field for the 2015-16 season last night. And it was a mixed result with Game 1 steady with 2014 and Game 2 surging over last year.

With a great showing by Julio Jones, the 7 – 10:15 PM ET first game on Monday saw the Atlanta Falcons beat the Philadelphia Eagles 26-24 at home. Nice and close despite an underdog rally, which is what any broadcaster wants to keep the viewers watching,, the match-up drew a 9.8 in metered-market results. That’s a 6% rise from the slumping 9.2 result of the Detroit Lions’ defeat of the New York Giants in the opening game of last year’s MNF doubleheader on September 8, 2014. Last night’s game peaked in the 10 – 10:15 time period with a 13.9 MM rating.
Still, the Falcons vs. Eagles game was down 16% from the 2013 record-breaking MNFopener, which pulled an 11.6 rating in metered-markets for the .....

 أكّدت المحكمة العُليا أن اليوم الإثنين هو المُكمل لشهر ذي القعدة، وغداً الثلاثاء غرة ذي الحجة، والوقوف بعرفة يوم الأربعاء، وعيد الأضحى يوم الخميس.   وصدر عن المحكمة العُليا القرار التالي: القرار رقم (75 / هـ) وتاريخ 29 / 11 / 1436هـ: الحمد لله وحده، وصلى الله وسلم على نبينا محمد وعلى آله وصحبه، وبعد: فقد عقدت المحكمة العُليا جلسةً مساء يوم الأحد التاسع والعشرين من شهر ذي القعدة لهذا العام 1436هـ؛ للنظر فيما يردها من المحاكم عن ترائي هلال شهر ذي الحجة لهذا العام 1436هـ.   وبعد الاطلاع على ما وردها من المحاكم ولجان الترائي في مناطق المملكة بهذا الخصوص ودراسته، تبين أنه لم يتقدم أحد للشهادة برؤية الهلال بعد مغرب أمس، ولقول النبي - صلى الله عليه وسلم (فإن غم عليكم فأكملوا العدة ثلاثين) متفق عليه واللفظ للبخاري، وبناءً على ذلك فإن المحكمة العليا تقرر أنه لم يثبت لديها رؤية الهلال الليلة الماضية، فيكون اليوم الإثنين الموافق الرابع عشر من شهر سبتمبر أيلول 2015م، هو المكمل لشهر ذي القعدة، ويوم غدٍ الثلاثاء الخامس عشر من شهر سبتمبر أيلول 2015م هو غرة شهر ذي الحجة له...

Delta State U. shooting: Police seek suspect after history professor killed

An employee at Delta State University is a suspect in the shooting death of a history professor there Monday, police said. Shannon Lamb, an instructor at the school in Cleveland, Mississippi, remains at large and is considered armed and dangerous, Cleveland Police Chief Charles Bingham told reporters. Police in a city 300 miles away also described Lamb as a suspect in another homicide there. "We do not have the suspect in custody at this moment, but we are actively pursuing him," Bingham said. He declined to detail a motive in the case. "Right now we have no motive," Bingham said, "and we're not going to speculate on a motive until we have facts in hand." Authorities named Lamb as a suspect hours after finding history professor Ethan Schmidt dead in his office. Schmidt was shot in the head, Bolivar County Deputy Coroner Murray Roark said.
